Volunteers Needed for Casino Fundraiser this May!
The Lifesaving Society is urgently seeking volunteers to help out at our upcoming casino fundraiser. We're incredibly grateful to everyone who has already volunteered, and we only have a few - very important! - positions left to fill.
This year's event will be held at Edmonton's Century Casino (13103 Fort Rd NW) on May 14th and 15th.
No prior experience is necessary, and volunteers will be provided with free food and beverages!
Cashier (Lifesaving Society Members ONLY)
- Trading chips for cash. Ability to count chips accurately in increments of 5 and 25 as well as counting back cash is a huge asset.
- Will be seated most of the time.
- To apply for this position, you will need to sign an AGLC Casino Volunteer Worker Application form, which we will provide.
Available Shifts (2):
- May 14th: 9:30 AM - 7:00 PM
- May 15th: 12:00 PM - 7:00 PM
We are eager to fill these positions as soon as possible, as they can only be filled by members of the Lifesaving Society who are leadership level or above. This would include all current Society instructors, examiners, instructor trainers, and coaches.
Count Room Volunteers
- Work under the Count Room Supervisor.
- Responsibilities include sorting, counting, verifying, and amalgamating cash.
- Will be seated most of the time.
Available Shifts (3):
- May 14th: 11:00 PM - 3:30 AM
- May 15th: 11:00 PM - 3:30 AM (2 positions open)
For these roles, feel free to reach out to family and friends who may be interested, as a Lifesaving Society membership isn't required to volunteer.
Volunteer participation goes a long way in ensuring that the fundraiser is a success. The funds from these casino events help us to advance our humanitarian mandate of preventing drowning and water-related injury in Alberta and the Northwest Territories.
