Seeking Volunteers for National Lifesaving Sport Committee!

Participate on a small committee to help drive the future of Lifesaving Sport forward in Canada! 

On behalf of the Lifesaving Society Canada Sport Commission and the National Sport Coach/Official Committee Chair, we're looking for individuals from across Canada who have the expertise and knowledge to help update the Canadian Competition Manual used at the Canadian Pool and Surf Lifesaving Championships. 

In this position, your role would consist of researching, developing, and implementing technical rules relating to Lifesaving Sport in Canada.

 

We're Looking For...

Senior Officials Officials with expertise with using the manual at the National level.  International experience (recent) considered to be an asset.
Coaches Coaches who are currently involved with Lifesaving Sport and who have coached athletes at the National level.
Athletes Athletes who have competed at the National level (international experience considered an asset).

 

Scope of Work

  • A review of the current manual with identification of changes and/or gaps, comparison to the current ILS standards, including SERC.
  • Consultation with stakeholders regarding the current manual for identification of current changes and/or gaps, comparison to the current ILS standards, including SERC.
  • Development of the new manual, including a National short course standard and SERC.
  • Consultation with stakeholders with the draft manual.
  • Implementation of the new manual.

The time commitment for this work will be about 3 hours weekly.
