Reminder to Complete the National Lifeguard Mandatory Update by December 31, 2023
This is a reminder to all of our National Lifeguard Instructors and Trainers that the deadline to complete the 2022 National Lifeguard Mandatory Update is approaching soon.
This update must be completed no later than December 31, 2023 via our Lifesaving Society Online Academy.
Effective January 1st, 2024, all previous National Lifeguard resources will be retired, and facilities and affiliates must transition to the updated program.
National Lifeguard Trainers:
Any National Lifeguard Trainers wishing to continue delivering National Lifeguard Instructor courses in 2024 must complete this mandatory update prior to the deadline.
National Lifeguard Instructors:
In order to deliver the National Lifeguard (2022 revision) courses, National Lifeguard Instructors must have completed the mandatory update or have been certified on or after April 17, 2023.
In order to complete an apprenticeship for appointment as a National Lifeguard Instructor:
- Prior apprenticeship must be completed in National Lifeguard (Pool or Waterfront) - 2022 revision
- Lead National Lifeguard Instructors and apprentices must complete the mandatory update or have been certified on or after April 17, 2023.
