Now Recruiting for Our 2024 National Trainer Course
The Lifesaving Society Alberta and Northwest Territories branch will be running a free National Trainer course and workshop from April 13 - 14 at Emerald Hills Leisure Centre in Sherwood Park.
We're looking for experienced Trainers who are interested in expanding their leadership role with the Society and putting their knowledge and skills to use!
Appointment for this course will be decided through an interview process, with interviews taking place mid-March.
Why Are We Offering This Course?
There are different stages in development within the Lifesaving Society leadership pathway, beginning with Instructor and ending with National Trainer.
As one advances through the Society’s leadership system, the nature and expectations of their role will change. What we expect Instructors and Trainers to do is very different than what we expect a National Trainer to do. These roles demand different levels of proficiency.
National Trainers are a key part of our leadership model. They facilitate Society programs including Trainer original courses & recertifications, promote our programs and initiatives within their community. and uphold the standards and integrity of the Lifesaving Society throughout their volunteerism with us.
