Call for Volunteers: Training Program Commissioner-Elect
The Lifesaving Society Canada is currently seeking a volunteer to assist in leading the Training Program activity centre and projects.
The Lifesaving Society Canada's Training Program Commission contributes to the mission of the Society by developing or revising training programs and related training materials used to educate Canadians in the prevention of drowning and water-related injury. At this time, the Training Program Commission has three areas of focus to help achieve this mandate:
- Revision of the Swim for Life and Canadian Swim Patrol programs as per the current Revisions Model.
- Launch of the revised Canadian Lifesaving Manual (new Bronze Medal manuals) and development of the revised Alert Manual (new National Lifeguard manuals).
- Ongoing work to that includes, but is not limited to, development of the adapted aquatics and Critical Incident Stress training modules.
Working with the Training Program Commissioner, the Commissioner-Elect will perform duties as outlined in the Training Program Commissioner Terms of Reference and the Training Program Commissioner Job Description.
The successful applicant will fill the role of Training Program Commissioner-Elect for one year, the role of Training Program Commissioner for two years, and the role of Past-Commissioner for one year (totaling 4 years).
