The International Life Saving Federation (ILS) is the world authority in the global effort to prevent drowning and regroups national life saving organizations aiming at improving water safety, water rescue, lifesaving and lifeguarding and lifesaving sport.

Mission
ILS is the International Federation for Lifesaving and Lifesaving Sport. In these roles ILS leads, supports and partners with national and international organisations committed to drowning prevention, aquatic safety supervision, emergency response and sport.

Government of Alberta

The Lifesaving Society receives funding each year from the Government of Alberta. These funds are awarded through Alberta Culture and Tourism and are supported from the Alberta Lottery Fund.

The Alberta Government is committed to facilitate opportunities that work towards achieving the government's priority of improving Albertans' quality of life. Lifesaving Society programs and services align directly with Alberta Culture and Tourism  core business streams to promote active living and to support programs that enhance the quality of life, encourage self-sufficiency and promote volunteer participation.

Special Alberta Government funding through the Health Living Fund support the Swim to Survive School Grant and JLC Program Grant.

Injury Prevention Centre

The Injury Prevention Centre (IPC) supports initiatives that empower communities to create a caring and safe Alberta, one that works together to reduce the toll that injuries take. Thanks to our partnership with the ACICR, our affiliates and other community leaders have access to the Swim to Survive Toolkit, the Swim to Survive School Grant, the new Safety and Supervision Plan Toolkit, as well as the Lifejacket Loaner Station program.

AQUAM

As a Society partner, AQUAM supports our mandate for drowning and injury prevention, and active living and fitness. The Society gratefully acknowledges their support of the provincial Lifesaving Pool Championships, annual Water Smart® campaign, and RIPPLES e-newsletter.

DB Perks & Associates Ltd

Through generous support from DB Perk & Associates, the Society is able to offer the annual DB Perks Scholarship program.  These scholarships are to be used by the recipients to advance their leadership capacity in delivering Lifesaving Society education and training programs in Alberta or Northwest Territories.

Active networks

Hy-Tek software

They provide the Hy-Tek Meet Manager software at a reduced price for our AB/NWT Lifesaving Affiliate Clubs to run sanctioned lifesaving sport competitions.
