Position: Devon Outdoor Swimming Pool, Assistant Pool Manager
Title of Position: Assistant Pool Manager
The Assistant Pool Manager shall be responsible for acting as a member of the management team as well as a shift supervisor in the operation and maintenance of the Town of Devon Outdoor Swimming Pool. This position oversees the overall operations and safety aspects of the Town pool; schedules pool activities and use; manages and supervises shift supervisors as well as part-time and seasonal lifeguards; able to work independently or in a team environment; communicates with Finance staff and Recreation operators; ensures safety requirements are met by adhering to the town Health and Safety Program and site-specific safety training. The focus of this position is to learn about and become familiar with pool operations, scheduling, staff leadership, and administration, and on-the-job training for the Pool Manager position.

Lifeguard and instruct all levels of aquatic programs, including specialty programs and special events, in the accordance with prescribed Red Cross, Lifesaving Society and other program
Conduct water tests and adjust water chemical levels to ensure a safe and comfortable balance for
Perform a variety of custodial, maintenance and preventative maintenance tasks for facility and pool

The Town of Fairview Community Services Department is currently seeking mature individuals who possess enthusiasm and experience to ensure the ongoing safety of our patrons and to provide professional instruction in a variety of aquatic activities at the Fairview Regional Aquatic Centre. Minimum qualifications for this position include: National Lifeguard Award and Standard First Aid (a copy of all current awards must accompany applications). The successful candidate must be available to work varying morning, mid-day, evening and weekend shifts as well as attend one mandatory in-service per month. Minimum age requirement is 16, however, 18+ is an asset.
Training will be provided. Costs will be reimbursed upon successful Fairview Aquatic Centre course completions. Applications for this position will be accepted on an ongoing basis.
